Thank YouWritten praise is considered by employees to be one of the most valued types of praise. It only takes a few minutes to jot down a personal note to an employee who made a difference that day and is an effective recognition strategy. Here are some tips on how you can make written praise part of day-to-day recognition.
  • Make a thank-you card by hand.
  • Post a thank-you note on the employee’s office door or computer.
  • Write a “letter of praise” to recognize their specific contributions and accomplishments; send a copy to your boss or CEO and to HR.
  • Provide managers with specially printed packets of thank you cards to hand out to employees who do exceptional work.
  • Ask your boss or CEO to send a letter of acknowledgement or thanks to individuals or groups who make a significant difference.
